Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year

Now accepting applications for a full-time Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Middle School Social Studies Teacher plans, prepares, and delivers lessons and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. The Middle School Social Studies Teacher is responsible for actively supporting the mission, vision, and promotion of Crown Point Christian School.

Purpose

Qualifications

  • Experience, Training, and Licensure

    • Bachelor Degree or higher in Education from an accredited college or university

    • Indiana teaching license for the subject or grade level taught

  • Professional Profile

    • Must demonstrate personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

    • Active member/regular attendee of a Bible-believing church

    • Passion to help students achieve their God-given potential

    • Commitment to excellence in work

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Strong technology skills

    • Ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Instructional Planning

  1. Develop lesson plans and objectives suitable to the needs of students to meet  the school’s desired student outcomes.

  2. Plan thematic units to help students see wholeness and relevance in learning.

  3. Incorporate various teaching strategies to match the learning styles of all students.

  4. Discern and teach the Biblical principles that relate to the lesson content.

  • Teaching the Lesson

  1. Organize class time well with activities that have a clear purpose and engage students' attention.

  2. Give clear directions and organized explanations.

  3. Use questions and explanations that promote clear thinking and awe in students.

  4. Listen carefully to students’ ideas and apply them to the lesson.

  5. Use gestures, body movement and voice inflection effectively to generate interest and wonder in learning.

  • Classroom Management

  1. Establish a climate of care and love for students.

  2. Clearly define what is responsible Christian behavior for students.

  3. Help students develop self-discipline through appropriate use of correcting, consequences and counseling.

  4. Organize time, space, procedures and materials for effective, efficient learning.

  • Professional Conduct and Growth

  1. Communicate with parents about student progress and needs.

  2. Work constructively with colleagues to contribute ideas as well as listen to the ideas of others.

  3. Maintain teacher certification and strive to advance your degree.

  4. Articulate and integrate Christian faith into teaching and relationship with others.

  • Other Duties

  1. Teachers assigned to a specific grade-level homeroom will lead and/or help sponsor grade-level activities.

  2. Perform other duties as assigned by the Middle School Principal.

Position Details

  • Salaried, 190-day contracted employee paid in equal installments over twelve months beginning in August.

  • Reports to the Middle School Principal.
