Updates on the 2020-2021 School Year ~ 6/30/20

  1. We are planning to begin school on August 19 with all students in attendance. We are putting the final touches on our reopening plan and hope to get that out to you in early July. A huge THANK-YOU to the over 340 families who responded to our survey. Many of your suggestions are being incorporated into our plan. The plan will include having more entrances and exits open at the beginning and ending of the day, limited numbers of students out for recess at one time, extensive cleaning and sanitary changes, including use of our new Emist machines, hand sanitizers and touch less water bottle fillers in place of some of our drinking fountains (potentially all fountains will be retrofitted).
  2. Next school year, school will be dismissed at 3:10 rather than 3:00. This will accommodate the new MS schedule as well as add additional teaching time for the elementary levels.
  3. We are working on plans to replace our customary Back to School nights with opportunities to have elementary students meet their new teachers outside and to have supplies dropped off much like we did at the end of last year. Stay tuned!
  4. We are pleased to announce the hiring of a full-time school counselor and a part-time nurse. Both of these positions will be a tremendous asset to our school.

We trust you are having a relaxing, refreshing and blessed summer!
