Part-time Graphic Designer

Looking for a part-time graphic designer to create digital and print materials that share our story, increase brand awareness, and foster community. This position will provide event and activity support and will oversee photography, spirit wear, and yearbook.

Purpose

  • Design digital and print materials that share our story, increase brand awareness, and foster community between families, staff, and supporters.

  • Provide marketing and design support for school events (concerts, play, camps) and activities (student of the month, SALT, theme shirts).

  • Market the CPCS brand on our website, through social media accounts, visually throughout our campus, and externally with spirit wear and shared community events.

  • Oversee photo and video storage and produce our annual yearbook.


Qualifications

  • Experience, Training, and Licensure

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Professional Profile

    • Must demonstrate personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

    • Active member/regular attendee of a Bible-believing church.

    • Passion for Christian education and CPCS in particular.

    • Communicates professionally & effectively both verbally and in writing.

    • Works independently, respecting confidentiality and with discretion.

    • Shows proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite, graphic design software, and social media platforms.

    • Learns quickly, with a willingness to embrace new systems and processes.

    • Works well as a team player in a highly collaborative environment.

    • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.

    • Professionally addresses issues with staff, students, and volunteers.

    • Is proactive and seeks ways to add value to the school community.

    • Open to warm and cool feedback and willing to implement suggestions of others.


Responsibilities

Marketing & Branding Support

  1. Oversee implementation of the CPCS branding guide, including visual aspects of website, publications, signs, media, social media, and video.

  2. Manage content updates on the website and across digital platforms, ensuring branding consistency, working closely with the Administrative Assistant in charge of communications.

  3. Create print and digital materials to communicate the CPCS story in partnership with Admissions and Development and/or to assist with operations.

  4. Manage the social media accounts at CPCS, taking and compiling photos of students, staff, and events to communicate the mission, brand and story.

  5. Create slideshows for the TVs in the atrium/hallways and update bi-weekly.

Event support

  1. Work with the Admin Team (& Parents Club for Grand Day) to determine areas of need & create volunteer sign-ups.

  2. Create signage, handouts, and digital media to welcome & guide guests.

  3. Assist in the creation & printing of programs, banners, signs, and certificates.

Volunteer Support

  1. Support volunteer committees (Parents Club, Athletic Boosters, Hot Lunch, Second Life) with promotional and volunteer signups.

  2. Create and advertise volunteer signups based on event host requests. Communicate with the host if additional support is needed.

Photos & Yearbook

  1. Contract with yearbook vendor

  2. Oversee design and coordinate final draft of yearbook

  3. Work with the Admin Team and vendor to determine the picture day schedule.

  4. Recruit volunteers to assist photographers on Picture Day.

  5. Organize photos in digital storage.

Spiritwear

  1. Collaborate with Administrator or Event Host to design and select spiritwear.

  2. Work with distributors to commission and inspect the work within the desired timeline.

  3. Manage spiritwear inventory and store, providing regular opportunities for in-person or online purchases.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Direct Report.


Position Details

  • Hourly, at-will employee – 50% during the school year plus 4 hours/week in the summer

    • Prefer 5 half days/week during the school year, plus in-service days

    • 4 hours/week in summer in the office

  • Reports to the Director of Advancement
