Hello everyone. My name is Nick Groen and this will be my third year at Crown Point Christian School. The past two years I was the Assistant Principal. This year, I am very excited to serve the CPCS community as Interim Principal. After receiving a B.A. in History and Secondary Education, along with a middle school endorsement at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, I moved from my hometown of Sioux Fall, South Dakota to Miami, Florida. For seven years I taught high school social studies at Westminster Christian School. Additionally, I was very active in coaching, teacher training, and technology development. In 2011, I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Scranton.
I have been married to my wife, Katie, for the past six years, our daughter, Ella, was born in 2014, and we recently welcomed our son, Luca, to the family. My family and I live in Crown Point and are active members at First Christian Reformed Church of Crown Point. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, home improvement projects, playing sports, reading and traveling.
It is a passion for education and the Lord that has led me on this career path and to this position. I hope to continue to have a positive impact on the CPCS community and look forward to working with you.
Ms. Moxey began in June, 2009, as CPCS’s Principal. She transitioned to the role of Assistant Principal for the 2016-2017 school year. She was born and raised in Holland, Michigan, and graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She began her teaching career at Hudsonville Christian School and then took nine years off from her career to be a full-time mom to her three sons. She went back to teaching when they were all in school, and has taught in several Christian and public schools before becoming an administrator in 1999 after completing her Masters Degree in Administration at Governors State University. She has also been an Adjunct Professor at GSU for the last twelve years. She lives in Cedar Lake and has five grandchildren living in Crown Point, Grand Rapids, and Indianapolis.
Ms. Moxey is thrilled to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and teachers. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
I am excited to help in the office this year as the part-time Admissions Coordinator. I grew up in Palos Heights, Illinois and attended Chicago Christian High School and Fox College. My husband, Paul, and I have been married for 15 years and are members at Faith Church in Dyer. Our daughter, Niki, is in seventh grade and our son, Jake, is in fifth grade at Crown Point Christian School. One of my favorite bible verses is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me."
I joined CPCS in February, 2009, and enjoy my role as Office Manager. I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and worked at Chicago Title & Trust Company in Chicago before taking time off to be a full-time mom. I am happy to be back in the working world. At CPCS I enjoy being surrounded by such positive energy and people who truly care for each other and work for a common goal.
I am married to my husband, Butch, and have two daughters. Both of my daughters attend Illiana Christian High School.
My favorite bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3.1, "To everything there is a season and time for every purpose under heaven."
My name is Heather Biancardi. I work in the office as the full-time receptionist. For over ten years I volunteered at CPCS consistently so now I feel privileged to have a working relationship with our school. I truly love being witness to children growing in knowledge, friendships, and in faith.
I have been married for 19 years to my husband Luigi and have three amazing children, including two CPCS graduates.
I love the chapter of Romans 12 as it is a life lesson through and through. Romans 12:3 is my favorite verse: "For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of your self with sober judgement in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you."
My name is Sue Boersma and I am Crown Point Christian School's part-time Marketing Coordinator. My husband, Ryan, and I have been married for 18 years and are members at First Christian Reformed Church in Crown Point, Indiana. We have triplet boys, Nick, Noah and Logan, who are in seventh grade at Crown Point Christian School. We enjoy spending time watching them play baseball and basketball. Most of all, our favorite thing to do as a family is spend our weekends at the family cottage in Bass Lake, Indiana.
I was fortunate to have attended Christian schools. I know that my Christian education shaped my life in many ways and is doing the same for my children. One of my favorite Bible verses is Ephesians 2:8, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith; and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."

I have been married to my husband, Marty, for 29 years. We have three grown children, one son-in-law, and one precious granddaughter. Crown Point Christian School is dear and near to me because it has been a huge support to our family. Our daughter, Amanda, was diagnosed in 2011 with leukemia. This year she celebrated her fifth year of being cancer free! God is so good.
One of my favorite verses is Romans 8:38 & 39: "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angel, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Hello. My name is Valarie Pals and I work in the Crown Point Christian School office as a part-time marketing and admissions coordinator. I have worked here for seven years and time flies by in the busyness of the office! It is so amazing to watch how the Lord's continued faithfulness blesses our school each and every day.
Before joining the staff at Crown Point Christian School, I worked for a financial institution in Chicago for 15 years. I am married to Jeff and we have two sons - one attends Crown Point Christian School and one attends Illiana Christian High School. We love to camp and enjoy the outdoors as a family.
As a parent, I am grateful for the teachers and staff at CPCS. They truly care for each and every student not only from a teaching perspective, but from a godly heart. It is exciting to see teachers in action cultivating students in their walk with the Lord. My favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
My name is Jack Rupp and I’m the Director of Information Technology here at CPCS. I’m so excited to be here at this incredible time of growth and innovation at CPCS. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications and Networking from Purdue University and have specialized in Educational Technologies for the past several years.
Outside of work, I enjoy fulfilling the Great Commission to go into the world and preach the Good News; making disciples of all nations. I’m an active member of and sit on the board of Good Messengers Ministries of Northwest Indiana, a ministry that is focused on equipping believers for biblical evangelism and presenting the Gospel to the world one person at a time. In addition, I have the humbling honor of ministering to the men at the Lake County Jail a few times each month, bringing the Good News of the Gospel to the inmates.
My favorite verses are Matthew 6:33, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”, and Isaiah 6:8, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”
I am the Finance Manager in the school office and have been working at Crown Point Christian School since 1995. Having been employed here for many years, I'm so thankful that God has enabled me to see the many amazing ways he has been so faithful to CPCS. I greatly enjoy my job at CPCS and am always excited to see all the wonderful things that are happening here.
My husband, Larry, and I attend Bethel Church & Ministries in Crown Point. We have been blessed with three daughters and two sons-in-law. Rachel (1998 CPCS graduate) is married to Nathan Carlberg, and they reside in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Rachel and Nathan blessed us with our first grandchild on August 15, 2013. Our little Judah is simply the best grandson ever! Jessica (2002 CPCS graduate) is married to Doug VanNoort and is a medical assistant in Merrillville. Lauren (2004 CPCS graduate) recently married Marc Spender, and they reside in California.
Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with family, reading, and traveling. A couple of my favorite Bible verses are "Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation." (Isaiah 12:2) and "Be still and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10a).
My name is Mike Togtman and I'm the Desktop Support Technician at Crown Point Christian School. I'm happy to serve the faculty and staff here to the best of my ability. I graduated from Illiana Christian High School in 2011 and I attended Taylor University for two years, pursuing a degree in Computer Science with a focus on Artficial Intelligence Systems, but have not completed my degree currently. I hope to do so some time in the near future.
Besides working part-time at Crown Point Christian School, I also work part-time as the Contemporary Worship Leader at Valparaiso First United Methodist Church, and I also serve at Faith Church in Dyer on Wednesday nights as a member of the worship team. It is a tremendous hnor to be able to serve the church in this way.
Two of my favorite Bible verses are: Timothy 4:12, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity." 1 Corinthians 13:1-3, If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing."
