Mr. Kamp began teaching at CPCS in 2009. Tom holds a BA from Trinity Christian College in History and PE and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Covenant College. He had the privilege of teaching at Illiana Christian from 1991-2000 and coached a variety of sports as well as served as Athletic Director. God called Tom and his family to Tennessee to become High School Principal at Chattanooga Christian. Following four great learning years in Tennessee, Tom then served as High School Principal at Kalamazoo Christian High School. The past two years he worked in the business world with an online learning company gaining valuable insights in eLearning.
Tom is happily married to Lori who is an amazing NICU nurse (as well as great wife and mom) and they have three sons Kylen, Ethan, and Brenden (Kylen attends Illiana and Ethan and Brenden attend CPCS).
Tom is very excited about getting back into classroom teaching and administrating athletics. One of biggest reasons he is in education is because of the influence and great instruction he received from his coaches and teachers. His hope and prayer is that he can be an instrument of God to bring more kids into a lifelong love relationship with Christ. One of Tom’s favorite Bible verses is I Timothy 4:8 “For physical training is of some value, but Godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
My hobbies include playing basketball and golf. My passion is serving God
through sports in any way that I can. I love coaching and teaching kids in
any area that involves staying active!
My favorite verse for right now is "Don't let anyone look down on you
because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in
life, in love, in faith and in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12).
