Mr. Koontz~Seventh Grade Homeroom,
Literature Teacher
Mr. Koontz was born in 1961. He went to Johnstown Christian High
School in Johnstown, PA. He graduated in 1985 from Grace College
in Winona Lake, IN. Mr. Koontz has been teaching for 16 years. He
has also taught in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from 1985 to 1992, and
Monday’s Corner, PA from 1992 to 1993. After that he went
back down to Florida and taught in Pompano Beach from 1993 to 1996.
He taught one more year in Ft. Lauderdale before moving to Merrillville,
IN where he and his family currently live.
Mr. Koontz teaches 7th grade homeroom as well as science and literature
at Crown Point Christian School. His favorite thing about teaching is seeing
the light go on when a student who is having a hard time suddenly understands.
His hobbies include collecting baseball cards and coaching basketball and
soccer. Mr. Koontz’s favorite Bible verse is, “Therefore do
not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are
being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving
us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not
on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but
what is unseen is eternal,” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). |
