Miss Schurman~Sixth Grade
Miss Schurman grew up in DeMotte, Indiana with her parents, her two brothers, and their dog Rocky. After graduating from DeMotte Christian School in 2001 and Kankakee Valley High School in 2005, she attended Trinity Christian College where she double majored in elementary education and math education. During her time at Trinity, she enjoyed being involved in a variety of activities from student government, to Trinity’s math triathlon competitions, to playing on Trinity’s women’s volleyball team for four years. In volleyball, she fulfilled the duties of captain for two years, and received the honor of being named an NCCAA Division One All-American player in her senior year. After graduating from Trinity in 2009, God continued his faithfulness by leading Miss Schurman to Crown Point Christian School where she is currently teaching middle school math. Her hobbies include reading, camping, staying active in sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Miss Schurman has a passion for mathematics and feels that the Lord is calling her to share this joy with others. Her goal is to create a classroom environment in which students feel safe to explore new concepts, be creative and find success and enjoyment in this subject.
Miss Schurman strives to continually trust in God’s faithful guidance. She is uplifted by Proverbs 19: 21 which states, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” |
