Hi! I’m Dawn Gibson and I am so excited to have the privilege of teaching third grade at CPCS. I am a Chicago Christian High School graduate and can’t wait to wear purple and gold again! I graduated from Trinity Christian College and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with minors in History, Special Education and Theology. I then taught third grade at Highland Christian before starting a family.
My family consists of my husband, our niece and our four children. Scott works at Faith Church in Dyer, IN. Candice (Fr.) will attend Olivet Nazarene, Deseree (Sr.) and Jori (Jr.) will continue at Illiana, and Laci (6th) and Isaac (4th) are eagerly awaiting their first day at CPCS. We also have three four-legged family members (dogs) Taffy, Frosty and Bailey. As a family we enjoy swimming, tubing, sporting events and getting together with friends and family.
Before this year, I worked at Faith Church in their Children’s Ministry Department. Working with children on just the weekends made me long for a classroom again. I feel extremely blessed to be teaching here and I’m counting down the days until school starts! My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” |
