Mrs. Houtsma~Second Grade Teacher
Come on! Sail into Second Grade with me! I love teaching at Crown Point Christian. I graduated from Dordt College in May of 2007.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education as well as minors in Special Education and Reading.
I am from Schererville, Indiana and I attended high school at Illiana Christian. I have an older sister and younger brother and sister. I got married on August 2, 2008.
I am so thankful God has called me to be a member of Crown Point Christian’s staff, and I hope to bring my love for children and the Lord into all aspects of who I am.
My hobbies include hanging out with friends, playing volleyball, shopping, drawing, baking (and cooking), finding new ways to use creativity, sewing, and being a referee (for volleyball).
My favorite part about teaching is that no two days are ever the same. No matter what I thought I was going to teach my students, they always teach me something along the way! My heart is in what I do, and I cherish being a part of a community committed to Christ-centered education.
My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 89:1 which says, “I will sing of the LORD’S great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.”
