My name is Jill Rich, and I teach First Grade here at CPCS. This is my second year teaching at CPCS; however, the classroom is not a new environment to me. I have taught for a total of fifteen years, and my experiences include both public and private schools. My calling has always been to be a teacher. There is nothing better than watching/helping children reach their full God-given potential. I earned my Bachelors degree in 1995 from Illinois State University. My family and I currently reside in Lansing, Illinois. My family include my husband, Justin, and our two children. My daughter, Julie, is a fifth grader at CPCS; and my son, John, is a kindergartner at CPCS. We also have some "furry" members of our family. We have a golden retriever named Ringo and two cats: Bootsie and Salem.
In my spare time, I enjoy singing in community choirs like the Illiana Oratorio Society. In addition to singing, I enjoy playing the piano for my own personal enjoyment. My family and I also enjoy camping. We have camped several places, including Yellowstone National Park, the beaches of Fort Meyers, and Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground. Our latest destination was Colorado Springs, Colorado.
My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:4-7. "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
